As the night wore on, Angel felt the familiar churning in her gut begin. She'd been consuming large amounts of spicy food earlier, which she knew would eventually catch up to her. With a sigh, she excused herself from her date and rushed to the bathroom.
Once inside, she barely made it to the toilet in time. The fiery lava-like contents of her stomach exploded from her mouth and engulfed the toilet bowl. She groaned in pain as the spicy food scorched her insides. This wasn't the first time she'd been afflicted with such severe indigestion, but it never got any easier.
Minutes turned into hours, and Angel's agony only worsened. It seemed like no matter how much she pushed and strained, she couldn't get rid of the burning sensation. Her stomach ached, and sweat dripped down her face. She tried drinking water, hoping it would help, but all it did was make her feel more nauseous.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Angel's pain began to subside. She could almost feel the last bits of her meal breaking apart and dissolving into the toilet water. Exhausted and relieved, she leaned against the cool tiles of the bathroom wall.
As she caught her breath, she noticed something strange. The water in the toilet was unusually dark and murky. She cautiously leaned forward and peeked inside. To her horror, she realized what had caused the problem. Her diarrhea had been so severe that it had mixed with her menstrual blood, creating a thick, foul-smelling mess.
Angel felt a wave of shame wash over her. She didn't know what she was going to do now. She couldn't very well just leave the mess in the toilet, but she couldn't face the thought of cleaning it up either. With a sigh, she resigned herself to the task at hand.
Slowly and carefully, she flushed the toilet, holding her breath against the noxious smell. Then, she grabbed a stack of towels and some cleanser and got to work. It took her several tries before she could scrub away the remnants of the disgusting mess. By the time she was finished, her arms ached and her stomach churned once more at the memory of what she had just endured.
As she emerged from the bathroom, she felt like a completely different person. Not just because of the physical change she'd undergone, but also because of the internal struggle she'd faced and overcome. She would never forget this humbling experience, and it made her grateful for every meal she'd ever eaten without issue.
With a deep breath and a renewed sense of determination, she rejoined her date. Despite what had happened, she knew she deserved to have some fun and maybe even find some comfort in the arms of someone who could understand and empathize with her experience. After all, weathering intense bouts of diarrhea was something that tied them together, in a gross and yet strangely bonding way.
